Note: Because our blog is behind the school firewall, you will NOT be able to upload images from websites – only from image files on your computer)

To Insert Youtube Videos:
  • Note: Because our blog is behind the school firewall, you will NOT be able to upload videos from youtube or any other webpage using the “insert video” function. Instead you will have to embed the video code into the post’s html page. Instructions for doing this are below.
  •        NOTE: Do this before you publish your post on the course blog
  •        Your post’s text box is automatically in “Compose” mode (see the buttons on the left-hand side of the page) Click instead on the “HTML” Box to switch views.

       You will see code that looks like this:

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />

  •        Go to where you found your video on youtube
  •        Scroll to the tool bar under the video and click the “Share” icon
  •        You are given three options: share, embed, and email – click on the “Embed” tab
  •        Copy the whole line of video code
  •        Go back to your draft blog post in HTML view
  •        Paste the video embed code into the code that is already there. It should now look like this (the video embed code is bolded here to show you where to put it – do not bold it on the blog):

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/CieuGZ7TthE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
</div>
<br />

  •        Now click “Save” and switch back to “Compose” mode using the “Compose” Button – you should see your embedded video there on the draft post
