Companies have gone viral!

Nowadays, so many companies started to change the way they advertise. They found out that over the years they cannot get anymore new customers. Like Schraf said, a straightforward style of advertisement isineffective it does not attract peoples, a more innovative advertisement techniqueis needed. So what did they do? They decided to go viral. Through studies, Companies have found that they best way to make get more people’s attention is to make viral advisement. Where do I stand on that Topic? Well, I believe this is such an effective strategies since from what I see it is definitely working. So many advertisements posted on YouTube reach over millions of views, just one of many examples, The Budweiser commercial from the 48th Super bowl.

At 50 millions of views, it is definitely viral, but what secret ingredient does companies put in there that makes it so famous? Well from research I have done, I figured out that companies uses a thing call Viral Marketing. Their main goal is to appeal to the viewer’s emotions, a positive, caring emotions in this video so that viewers share their friends of family members. This act of sharing is also a marketing strategy used and it is called Words-of-mouth. Words-of-mouth only works if both views share an emotion throughout the video or they have a familiarity to the video. All of these secret Ingredient, at its underlying part is the main cause for this advertisement to be so successful and go viral.
But that is not the only way to make a viral Advertisements, another way is to use something that is viral itself and incorporate it into the advertisement. This way the traffic of the ad is even higher, let take a look at Downy’s advertisement, Downy’s advertisement definitely this style effectively. They used the famous dress Phenomenon to get people’s attention. The secret ingredient is still in use for this ad, words-of-mouth, familiarization and emotions are shared throughout this whole advertisements.

But what makes these two ad so successful is that without social media and the internet there would not be the world Viral Marketing. Which means viral marketing rely heavily on Social media and with the growth of social media and the internet over all we can assume that Viral marketing is just in its early age and I will definitelygrow so much bigger as time goes by. But why do company know adopt this style of marketing if is so effective? Why isn’t there much studies on viral marketing? And, do you think viral marketing will change in form as depending on the change of advertisement style throughout time?
