Smoking cigarettes is now one of
the worst habits you can pick up on and it is producing a lot of health issues
for people who smoke. Almost any grocery store or convenient store you go to
will sell you cigarettes. But also, everywhere you walk you stumble upon a non-
smoking ad. There are images and videos being used to persuade people to stop
and quit investing so much time and money on something that is so harmful to
their bodies. Whether you’re waiting at the bus stop or watching television and
come across a non-smoking commercial ad. They are everywhere now. Smoking
campaigns try to advice you to quit smoking. Most of them are they’re trying to
scare you and they try to get in to your head by telling you of all the risks
you take when you smoke tobacco smoking.
While reading the local newspaper you can find articles about people who
smoke and what their consequences are. Many stories are told about how hard it
is to stop or all the consequences people get to smoke. Many smokers will
advice people into not doing it and will tell them all the reasons why not to
do it but they still do it them selves. Why is that? Why is it that people
advice someone not to do something bad but yet it is okay if they do it them
selves?
In an excellent commercial ad that I came across it shows children going up to a couple of strangers who are outside smoking cigarettes if they can do them the favor of lighting up a cigarettes for them. The people smoking are surprised and start to advice them that smoking is bad for you and all these things can happen to your body. The kids then tell the strangers “ if its so bad then why are you smoking?” the kids then take put a note from their pocket and give it to them. The note says, “You worry about me. But why not about yourself? Reminding yourself is the most effective warning to help you quit. Call 1600 hotline to quit smoking. The stagers given this note stops to think with a shocked face as they put the note into their pocket. This commercial conveys a good example of how many people advice their children, family members and their friends not to smoke with a full list of reasons why not to do it but they don’t listen to them selves and take their own advice.
