Forgtten Rights

The world is slowly growing everyday in a lot of ways. As time is passing by, things are not going to be the same as they were decades ago. Things are being left in the past as we look into a brighter future. Although, some things are difficult to leave behind to others. Even though there is a majority of people who do not see an issue with it, some still see it as a problem. There is a handful amount of arguments that are against but there are also a handful of arguments that support it. Like I said, time is passing by, and a majority of people think homosexuality is. So or the ones that are against it, will soon be gone.

One of the most common arguments that is always being bought up is if Gay Marriage should be legalized. Fist off, majority of the states in the US, already legalized it. According to the op-ed A Blunt Defense for Marriage Equality , even one of the judges from the United States Court of Appeals says "Homosexuals are among the most stigmatized, misunderstood, and discriminated-against minorities, denying them the freedom to marry imposes “continuing pain.” In spite of the fact that the opposing side makes arguments along the lines of suggesting that it ruins the sanctity of marriage. That marriage should be between a man and a woman cause that is what the bible says so. This has been stated so many times that it has now become a joke for the reason that it is now humorous to hear when a person says it. That is often the statement people say that are against it, and yes, it is still going on. How gay rights supporters often counter act against it is by stating that the bible is severely outdated. Even the current Pope, Pope Francis, says some of the passages in the bible are outdated in today's time, according to this article from the Diversity Chronicle. But do not worry, the debate does not end there.

Now this one brings up some interesting arguments from both sides. Some say if it really is a choice, while the majority of of people say it is something you are born with, and I agree with the majority. From the opposing side, they say it is not for the reason that they think it is just a phase they are going through and will grow out of it. As a matter of fact, some also say that they can fix or "cure" the homosexuality in a person. The funny thing is, people who have been through those situations, still are gay and their minds are still the same. That is the argument from the supporting side. Also, most of them know from when they were very young. There have been reports that state, it is literally impossible to change someone of their sexuality. But even if people choose to be homosexual, who cares? People still choose to be horrible to others and they can still get married to whoever they want.

In the final analysis of this, my point is that the world is still changing, but work still has to be done. The majority of people see it as a okay thing to be and honestly who is it hurting? No one. My prediction is that by the year 2025, people will look back at this and find it ridiculous to see the struggles homosexuals had to go through in the past decades.
