Failed Drug Wars#Legalization#Marijuana#Drugs#F**KTHESYSTEM

Americas war on drugs, particularly on marijuana has created controversy surrounding the legalization of the drug.  The history surrounding the drug came as a form of control over the immigration population in the 30's.  Marijuana was made illegal to control the immigration as Mexicans, Chinese, and African American populations were affected.  It was said that "Marihuana" which what Mexicans called the marijuana was a crazy drug that made you go mad.  Opium was made illegal and the Chinese found marijuana as an alternative to opium.  Marijuana was said to make African Americans go on a rage and rape white women. Each reason why marijuana was banned cannot be verified today.  From a financial stand point the U.S spends $1trillion dollars in fighting the drug war.  Marijuana would bring in roughly around $47 billion dollars of revenue a year. Why do the marijuana haters still want it to be illegal.  Private interests group profit and make money by it being illegal.  Prison guard lobby's, drug enforcement agencies, alcohol companies, and pharmaceutical companies would all be affected financially.  Its just too big of a mountain to climb.  If America really wanted to help solve the drug issue we can start by making marijuana legal and helping Mexico out.  In Mexico the drug violence is bad and the government cant really do much to stop the drug violence.  If drugs were made decriminalized or legal, why would you have to kill someone over a brick of cocaine.  Portugal has made many drugs decriminalized and has a lower crime rate.  Crime rate would decrease because junkies wouldn't have to rob someone to get their fix.  If the government gave out controlled dosages of what ever drug they decided on, then junkies wouldn't need to rob anyone and could actually contribute to society possibly.  Overall the drug war is failing, people are still killing each other for drugs.  the government is still spending $1 trillion dollars fighting the flow of drugs to no results.  Prisons are still crowded with non violent drug offenders for tiny amounts of drugs.  Private interest groups are still making money at the end of the day from the cycle of the war on drugs.  When does America get serious and end this failure of a drug war?
