Uncle Sam would be Mad

Mahamud Osman is a full time student studying at Northern Virginia community College and the past few week’s he’s been studying and writing a detailed discourse analysis on economic inequality.

The great United States of Americais built on a few solid ideas and morals that shapes America and makes itarguably the greatest country in the world and that ideology is the AmericaDream. However a certain issue had bought that ideology and feeling of optimism to a stop and that is the issue of economic inequality. The issue is mainly divided between two parties the Conservative party and the Liberal party. The Liberal party addresses the issue as a very serious issue and that the wealth gap is too large between the classes and that the middle class and lower class are falling through the cracks of society and have no hope in living the American dream and a prosperous life. The flip side of the discourse is the conservative side of the issue, they are convinced economic inequality is a non-existing issue and relate the economic wealth gap to laziness and unwillingness to work. The sources used in this paper have been well thought of and well researched. The sources incorporate both sides of the issue and using political cartoons was the best way to go about presenting this discourse because they are rich with color and attribution which help in rising the level of the issue and understanding the discourse and helping spread and widening the issue. The languages of the sources are very formal and incorporate lots of visuals in the sources. The liberal sources use examples of other countries to show the injustice in the economic issue while conservative use issues of social reform that lead to the decrease od wealth and no increase in anyway.

Basically either you agree with the liberal point of view or put your money where your mouth is and jump on the conservative side and work hard and rise in economic and social status but what are both party’s agendas really? All sources In this economic discourse play a certain role the cartoons show the larger side of the argument and the sources and by now you’re wondering why do I need to know all these facts and useless information that wont benefit me in anyway and I’ll counter your statement by saying that the basis to any discourse are the hard cold facts and without that I’ll just be writing my opinion. The conclusion of the discourse analysis is that both parties see it as a platform to push their agenda one headed towards economic expansion and the other headed towards economic redistribution.
