The Evil of Domestic Violence

We are taught that violence is bad and should not be use in any situation. One of the thing we are taught as boys was to never ever lay a hand on a women. Many people seem to not have learned that lesson because from the statistic I found it states that " Approximately 1.3 million women and 835,000 men are physically assaulted by an intimate partner annually in the United States." So it’s not only female who are being abuse, man also has the same problem. That's not a small amount of people we are talking about, it's in the millions range. Domestic abuse is one of the worst violence there is because if no one put a stop to it it’s just continues. Not to mention, not many people notice domestic violence. If there is a gang fight out in some neighborhood half the news cast would be on top of that story. When it comes to domestic violence there is not much mention at all.  One of the primary source I used to write my research paper was a article called "To Stop Violence, Start Home," by Pamela Shifman. In this article she gave us many good fact about how any violence offender has a background of domestic violence. In one of the example she gave was the Boston marathon. She stated that he was " arrested for beating his girlfriend". Another example was the Haron Monis, He " held 17 people hostage at a Lindt Chocolate cafe in Sydney," after he had already been charged as an accessory to the murder of his ex-wife.". Pamela gave reader a clear sign of a pattern of people who committed violence in the society has a history with domestic violence. So by stopping this domestic violence that is happening at home there is a chance that it will stop spreading to society.

            Another good primary source that I used and has a great impact on my research paper was this picture.

            This picture shows how horrible domestic violence can be. Not only does domestic violence hurt the victim it also hurt the people surrounding. As you can see in this picture the boy had to witness his mother being abuse and there is nothing he can do about it. All he can do is yell no in the back, even then the chance of the father stop is highly unlikely. This kid will grow up with many problems, due to the fact that he has witness his mother being abuse and he has zero ability to stop this. Will definitely impact as he grows up.

            One of the worst type of domestic violence victim has to be partner of a policemen. First off the first person the victim is suppose call is a police officer because they are the one who can put a stop to this abuse. However, if the policemen is the one who is doing the abusing it’s just made it much more harder for the victim because when it comes down to charging the policemen with abuse, most of the type they don't even charge. In an article I found called "Police Have a Much Bigger Domestic-Abuse Problem Than theNFL Does,"  it states that" charged, arrested, and convicted of abuse, more than half kept their jobs." How is the victim suppose to deal with this problem; if there is no punishment for this police officer who is abusing them. Here is video I found that about policemen abusing the kid and his ex- girlfriend took a video of it and sent it to the police station. He told his wife " nice try… trying to get me fired it's not going to work." The police station  did nothing after the video was sent to them.The only reason he got charged was because she took the video and went public, which caught everyone attention. As you can see domestic violence is a big problem and it need to be stop. By stopping domestic violence it could also stop other violence that is happening around society.
